Mothers Day

I just got the nicest mothers day ever... a phone call from 400 miles away.... let me back up a little... Being a grama, over the years I have been a Duella... that means I am a volunteer labor coach to young mothers (or old ones if they ask) That means I go into the Labor room with the mother and while every one else is focused on the baby, I focus on the mother and help her keep on task to deliver Her miracle as quickly and efficiently as possible...
On more than one occasion I have had my daughter with me... both as the birthing mother and as assistant with me to the mom... This morning My daughter called to tell me that she AND HER oldest daughter (15) helped deliver a friends son on Mothers Day in the wee hours ... the doctor was so impressed with my grand daughters performance in the Labor room that she invited her to sit in on the surgery to tie the moms tubes while my daughter her mom stayed with the baby in the room.... the Team in the Surgery were so impressed with My Grandaughters ready help and base understanding of medicine, they have invited her to stay ALL DAY to participate in every delivery and surgery...

Am I proud? Yes I AM.

My grand daughter may be the first one in Our Family to be a doctor one day... to find a mentor, at such a young age, to help guide her through the long process is like a miacle and shows Me that there is a purpose for a grandmothers dreams that went un fulfilled in her own life and through the daughter to the grand daughter to have the opportunity to BE what I only dreamed... (In my day women just weren't doctors.. they were nurses and for me even that opportunity didn't exist) This is Gods blessings over time and I am grateful... With the future so iffy, even if she doesn't get to go to med school, the experience may save lives under harsh conditions.... God works in funny ways and I am so glad He is working in mine....
HAPPY MOTHERS DAY TO ALL YOU MOTHERS OUT THERE.... TRUST AND WAIT ON THE GOOD LORD AND ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE. Love in Christ, Rosehippi
